Thomas Edison was totally deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other but thought of his deafness as a blessing in many ways. It kept conversations short so that he could have more time for work. He called himself a “two-shift man” because he worked 16 out of every 24 hours.
He was an American inventor and businessman who has been described as America’s greatest inventor. He developed many devices in fields such as electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and motion pictures.
He is mostly famous for the invention of the Light Bulb, If Thomas can do all these, what is stopping The Gambia from nurturing and utilizing the skills and passion of these young and amazing children of St Johns School for the Deaf.
We can make lives better and change the mindsets of the populace with regard to the differently-abled children.
