St John’s School for the Deaf – Science and Technology Laboratory Opening

MCJSupport Org Official Opening of St John’s School for the Deaf Science and Technology Laboratory, funded by the U.S. Embassy Banjul, The Gambia. Deaf Support Programme is a project to support the implementation of a project to improve STEM education for the Deaf by upgrading computer facilities and a learning center.

The main objective of the project is to introduce the Deaf students to technology-based education with the goal of changing behavior towards the deaf and bridge the opportunity gaps.

These will kick start activities at St John’s, MCJSupport Org will facilitate a training program for the teachers of St John’s School for the Deaf, conduct monthly evaluation and monitoring to make sure the equipment is utilized to their full potentials, which will be preceded by an exhibition program
slated 6 months after the opening of the center. The exhibition will entail a display of the different skills of the deaf most especially in the area of science, technology, and campaign through media channels with the use of radio programs and a documentary on TVs in The Gambia.
